  • The Importance of Dimensional Stability in Uniform Fabric Orders May 15, 2024
Workwear and uniforms serve a vital role in various industries, ranging from hospitality to manufacturing, where durability and functionality are paramount. However, one often overlooked yet crucial aspect of these garments is dimensional stability in the fabric used. Dimensional stability refers to the ability of fabric to maintain its original shape and size despite repeated laundering and wear. Imagine a workforce clad in ill-fitting uniforms that have shrunk or stretched after a few washes. Such garments not only compromise the professional image of the organization but also affect the morale and confidence of the employees. Dimensionally stable fabrics maintain the integrity of the uniform's design, ensuring a consistent and polished appearance over time. Fabrics with excellent dimensional stability can prolong the lifespan of garments. Fabrics that resist shrinking or stretching maintain their shape and size, reducing the need for frequent replacements. To conclude, dimensional stability plays a vital role in ensuring professional appearance of workwear uniforms.   What factors influence shrinkage?   1.     Different raw materials in fabrics lead to different shrinkage rates. Generally, fibers with high moisture absorption will swell in water, increasing in diameter and shortening in length, resulting in higher shrinkage. For example, some viscose fibers have a water absorption rate of up to 13%, whereas synthetic fiber fabrics have poor moisture absorption and therefore have lower shrinkage rates. 2.     The density of the fabric also affects shrinkage. If the warp and weft densities are similar, the shrinkage rates in the warp and weft directions will also be similar. Fabrics with a higher warp density will shrink more in the warp direction, whereas fabrics with a higher weft density than warp density will shrink more in the weft direction. 3.     The thickness of the yarn in the fabric affects the shrinkage rate. Fabrics made with thicker yarns will have higher shrinkage rates, while those made with finer yarns will have lower shrinkage rates. 4.     Different production processes result in different shrinkage rates. Generally, during the weaving and dyeing processes, fibers undergo multiple stretches. Fabrics that are processed for longer durations and subjected to greater tension will have higher shrinkage rates, and vice versa.   Returning to our products, overall, the shrinkage rates of the workwear and uniform fabrics we produce are quite satisfactory. For instance, the shrinkage rate of our polyester wool blended fabrics and polyester cotton fabrics is typically controlled within ±2%. For nylon cotton blend fabrics, the shrinkage rate is controlled within ±3%, and for pure cotton fabrics, it is controlled within ±3.5%. Our technicians have thoroughly considered every aspect, including fabric composition, yarn configuration, and production processes, to achieve the best possible shrinkage performance.
  • Workwear Fabric-Polyester Cotton Blend Fabric Apr 18, 2024
The workwear fabric is specially designed for the needs of working clothes, usually it has three basic characteristics: economy, functionality, and comfort and durability. The most important feature of workwear fabric is its affordability. Many companies provide work clothes to employees after they join the company. Due to the issue of the number of employees, it is particularly important to choose cost-effective workwear fabric. Depending on the nature of the company, there are different types of workwear fabrics. For example, construction companies should choose workwear fabrics with high abrasion resistance, while electronics companies should choose anti-static workwear fabrics, etc. Because work clothes are the longest-worn clothes for employees, to ensure good wearing experience, fabric must be comfortable and durable.   When customizing work clothes, choosing the right fabric is very important. Here, I will introduce in detail the polyester cotton blend fabric produced by our company, which is also one of the most widely used fabrics for work clothes on the market.   Many consumers may suddenly feel a decrease in quality when they hear "polyester-cotton." In fact, the difference between polyester-cotton and pure cotton is not significant, and polyester-cotton work clothes also have their own advantages. Compared to pure cotton fabrics, firstly, polyester-cotton fabrics are more cost-effective. For large companies and factories, they are more economical. Secondly, the cotton content in polyester-cotton is relatively low, generally 33%-35% cotton and 65%-67% polyester. Because it combines cotton and polyester, it has the characteristics of cotton's sweat absorption, breathability, as well as polyester's abrasion resistance, low shrinkage, wrinkle resistance, and fast drying. Therefore, polyester-cotton fabrics usually have characteristics such as strength, abrasion resistance, softness, comfort, moisture absorption, and breathability, and are loved by people.   For some work clothes with special functional requirements, our polyester cotton blend fabric can also undergo special processing. For example, adding conductive wire during spinning and weaving to give it anti-static function. There has always been a great demand in the market for anti-static fabrics, whether it is in biopharmaceuticals, electrical protection, or petrochemical plants, employees will be uniformly equipped with anti-static work clothes. The main function of anti-static work clothes is to prevent static electricity, followed by abrasion resistance, dirt resistance, and convenience in operation. In addition to anti-static properties, we also offer special treatments such as waterproofing, oil resistance, antibacterial properties, flame retardancy, etc., to meet the needs of different industries for workwear fabrics. We have many years of professional experience in polyester-cotton workwear fabrics and can configure and customize different specifications according to customer requirements to ensure that customers purchase truly suitable fabrics. • Fabric for Summer Work Uniform Mar 31, 2024
For summer short-sleeved work uniforms, selecting the appropriate fabric is crucial as comfort and breathability are key considerations. According to our experience, commonly used fabrics for custom-made short-sleeved work uniforms in summer are usually cotton and polyester-cotton blends fabrics.     Pure cotton fabric is soft, skin-friendly, and has strong water absorption, making it ideal for summer wear. However, pure cotton fabric tends to shrink to some extent, so pre-shrinking treatment is necessary before processing to prevent garment deformation. Polyester-cotton blend fabric is made by mixing pure cotton with polyester fibers, typically containing 35% to 65% polyester. Compared to pure cotton, polyester-cotton blend fabric is more cost-effective and has good wrinkle resistance and ease of care. While slightly less breathable than pure cotton, polyester-cotton blend fabric performs well in dissipating heat and drying quickly. Polyester-cotton blends retain some of the characteristics of pure cotton, such as comfort and softness, while significantly reducing the shrinkage phenomenon after washing. Additionally, they have good color fastness, and enhanced tensile strength and tear strength. Bscam’s PolyCotton fabrics have been developed to give the garments functionality, comfort, and durability, for example our products such as Item No. 230614/230615/230619 are perfectly suitable for short-sleeved shirt, and Item No. 230622 and 230618 are ideal for summer jacket. Also, we can customize the fabric according to the customer’s specifications, welcome to inquire.
  • The Importance of Color Fastness in Fabric Specifications Mar 18, 2024
In fabric specifications, there are numerous critical indicators such as yarn density, tensile strength, tear strength, shrinkage rate, and color fastness, each directly impacting the quality and performance of the fabric. However, among these indicators, color fastness stands out as particularly crucial, directly influencing the fabric's lifespan and visual appeal.   Color fastness refers to a fabric's ability to maintain color stability under different conditions, serving as a significant criterion for measuring fabric durability and quality. Good color fastness implies that the fabric can retain stable colors during washing, exposure to sunlight, friction, perspiration, etc., thus prolonging its lifespan and preserving its aesthetic appeal. There are four types of color fastness commonly required for accessing fabric’s color stability which are color fastness to washing, to light, to crocking, and to perspiration. Color fastness to washing assesses the fabric's ability to maintain color stability during the washing process, while color fastness to light evaluates its resistance to color fading when exposed to sunlight or artificial light sources. Color fastness to crocking measures the fabric's resistance to color fading or staining when subjected to friction with other surfaces. Color fastness to perspiration evaluates how the fabric maintains its color stability when in contact with sweat, reflecting its durability and appearance during wear.   As a professional workwear and uniform supplier, Bscam has implemented stringent color fastness standards for our polyester wool blend fabric, polyester cotton blend fabric, and nylon cotton blend camouflage fabric to ensure product quality and performance. Our factories utilize advanced testing methods and equipment to conduct thorough inspections on each batch of fabric, ensuring that their color fastness meets relevant standards and requirements. Below is the color fastness test report for shipment of our NylonCotton camouflage fabric. For the test results of shipments for our PolyWool and PolyCotton Fabric, you can check in About Us/Inspection for details. Overall, they demonstrate excellent performance in the SGS lab. tests of color fastness to crocking, to light, to washing and to perspiration, with ratings reaching 4-4.5 grade.     Color fastness plays a crucial role in fabric specifications, ensuring product quality and performance. Bscam will continue to focus on improving color fastness to meet customer demands and provide high-quality uniform and workwear fabrics.
  • What is Yarn Dyed Fabric? Mar 11, 2024
A fabric that is woven using dyed yarns to make specific patterns and designs in the fabric is called yarn-dyed fabric. The name of yarn-dyed fabric gives the dyeing process away. The manufacturers dyed the yarns individually before knitting or weaving the yarns into the fabric. The dyeing process of the fabric is done in the yarn, and then the manufacturing of the fabric is in the weaving process. To bring attractive patterns and color designs into the fabric, yarns are dyed prior to the weaving process. Depending on the fabric design, dyed yarns are used either in the warp direction (stripes) or both the warp and weft directions (checks). Comparing to plain fabrics, the manufacturing cost and manufacturing time of yarn dyed fabric are higher, also it has better colour fastness than plain fabric.   Yarn-dyed fabrics are used in making shirts, uniforms and other clothing items, also they are commonly used in flannel fabric, bedsheets, and home textiles. Our Poly/Wool fabrics is one type of yarn dyed woven fabric which are widely used in uniform garment, below you can check our hot sale yarn dyed Polyester Wool blended fabric in black color.
